In an exclusive conversation with IndiaToday.in, Vikrant spoke about the success of Love Hostel and his wedding with Sheetal.
Excerpts from the interview:
Fans were in for a sweet surprise on February 19, 2021, when Vikrant Massey shared photos from his dreamy wedding ceremony with Sheetal Thakur. The couple got married on February 18 after a long period of courtship. We asked Vikrant if it is a deliberate choice to remain tight-lipped about his personal life. He shared, “I have always been that way. I think it is also because you are living a public life. People expect you to share every bit of your life, especially when it is a norm out there to share. I am a very-very private guy. I think, so far, I have segregated my personal life and professional life pretty decently."
Vikrant Massey spoke about his wedding with Sheetal Thakur. He said, “I think marriage is something which is very-very private, very personal. Though the world knows this fact that we’ve been together for so long, but aisa kuch tha nahi na. It was not something we thought about but something that came very naturally to us. It was a regular middle-class wedding.” Vikrant shared that it surprises him when people ask him questions such as “Aapki celebrity wedding hui and aapne bataya nahi kisiko.” The actor stated, “I don’t see it that way. It was just a very regular, middle-class family wedding. We put up the pictures because we had to share our beautiful moments with the world.”
So, how is life as a married man? “Aree beautiful, so far (laughs)”, came Vikrant’s reply. He added, “So far, it is beautiful. I wish I could spend more time with her (wife Sheetal Thakur). Ab shaadi karte hi fifth day I had to come back and start working. Though she was a little grumpy about it. Time to time wo sunati rehti hain mujhe. Shaadi karke mujhe chor ke chale gaye. I feel like fauji’s wife. Wo Border picture ka example deti thi mujhe. Ki Border picture mein kaise Akshaye Khanna chale jaata hain shaadi karke, agle din mujhe bilkul waise hi feeling ho rahi hain. That’s a part of my job but she is going to join me soon for Holi, so I am looking forward to that.”
Amid the personal bliss, Vikrant’s OTT film Love Hostel opposite Sanya Malhotra and Bobby Deol is winning hearts. We wanted to know how he is enjoying the film's success. Vikrant humbly replied, “Honestly, you don’t set out on a journey anticipating so much love. The beauty of love coming your way is unexpected. Though, somewhere down the line, you want love coming your way. Acha lagta hain jab log appreciate karte hain par iss hadd tak hoga, wo expect nahi kiya tha. It is very overwhelming, heartwarming.”
