Vignesh Shivan works with MS Dhoni for CSK promo, shares moving story of his love for the cricketer

Director Vignesh Shivan worked with Mahendra Singh Dhoni for a special video for Chennai Super Kings. He shared a heartwarming story of how he couldn't take a photo with Dhoni when he was young.
Director Vignesh Shivan took to Instagram to share a photo with cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni for a promo video for Chennai Super Kings. In several interviews, Vignesh Shivan spoke about MS Dhoni being his inspiration. Taking to Instagram, the filmmaker wrote a moving story about how his mother took a picture with MS Dhoni several years ago and he couldn't. He further added that he called 'Action' 36 times and that it made him extremely happy and proud.
Vignesh Shivan has been busy with the shooting of his upcoming film, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal. Recently, he had gotten an opportunity to work with his longtime inspiration, MS Dhoni.
Sharing a photo with MS Dhoni, Vignesh wrote a moving story about how he couldn't take a photo with MS Dhoni when his mother was an Inspector of Police and worked as a security officer for the IPL players. He wrote, "I said “action” 36 times! Like a little boy counting with his fingers every time I said action & Thanked God and the universe for making me direct the video :) lucky me (sic)."
He also added that he brought his mom to meet MS Dhoni on his set and made them interact for 10 minutes. "I showed him the picture that my mom took :) that’s the first pic I’ve posted :) And then later brought my mom and made her meet him :) In my shooting My set :) For close to 10 mins atleast :) Manifestation, perseverance definitely works! Surreal i felt then (sic)," he captioned the post.

Director Vignesh Shivan made his debut with Simbu's Podaa Podi, which was released in theatres in 2012. He had also directed Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara's Naanum Rowdy Dhaan and Suriya's Thaana Serndha Kootam. He is waiting for the release of Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.
