In a recent interview, Vidya Balan revealed that she couldn't look at herself in the mirror for a period of 6 months. Here's why!
With films like The Dirty Picture, Sherni and Kahaani, Vidya Balan has proved that she is one of the finest actresses of Bollywood. Over the years, she has proved her mettle as an actress. But her journey in the Hindi film industry has been nothing less than a roller-coaster ride. In her recent interview, Vidya recalled her struggling days and revealed how a producer made her feel ugly to an extent where she couldn't look at herself in the mirror for 6 months.
Speaking with Prabhat Khabar, Vidya Balan said, "In recent times, I have received calls from them (producers who earlier replaced her in their films) but I politely refused to be part of their films. I was kicked out of 13 films. When one producer replaced me in a film, their behaviour towards me was very bad. They made me feel so ugly that, for six months, I could not gather the courage to look at myself in the mirror."
The actress further recalled a rejection that enraged her enough to take a walk from Marine Drive to Bandra in hot weather. Vidya went on to add that when she was being replaced in films, she signed two movies with K Balachander. Unfortunately, the actress later got to know that she had been replaced in his films as well, without being notified about it.
Meanwhile, Vidya Balan is busy promoting her upcoming movie, Jalsa, in which she stars alongside Shefali Shah. The film reportedly revolves around the story of a celebrated journalist, her cook and their conflict. Directed by Suresh Triveni, the movie is scheduled for release on March 18, 2022, on Amazon Prime Video.
