A video of a policewoman in Tamil Nadu taking care of an abandoned baby has gone viral. The four-month-old baby was handed over to the police station after a man gave it to a couple on a bus and he got off without taking the baby back.
Krishnamoorthy and Saraswati had boarded a bus from Neelankarai in Chennai to travel to Puducherry to attend a wedding. A man, who also boarded the bus with them, asked Saraswati to keep the four-month-old baby, as the bus was crowded.
The baby had fallen asleep on Saraswati’s lap and needed a diaper change. When the couple called for the man, he was not present on the bus.
Fellow passengers stated that the man had gotten off the bus. The shocked bus driver and conductor stopped the vehicle at Kottakuppam All-women police in Villupuram, where the child was handed over to the authorities.
While police began to search for the man and find out why he abandoned the child, police women in the station gave the child a warm bath, changed diapers, changed new clothes and kept the child fed.
Video of Saraswati and a kindhearted woman police officer changing the child’s dress and playing with the baby has gone viral.
