Veteran Marathi-Hindi actress Vatsala Deshmukh passed away at the age of 92. Reportedly, she breathed her last on March 12 post developing age-related complications. Vatsala Deshmukh was a part of films such as Naag Panchami, Jal Bin Machhli Nritya Bin Bijli, Mai Mauli, amid others.
Veteran actress Vatsala Deshmukh breathed her last on March 12 due to old-age complications. She was 92. During her active years in acting, Vatsala Deshmukh significantly contributed to the growth of Marathi and Hindi cinema. MNS Chitrapat Sena President Ameya Khopkar condoled the veteran actress’s demise on Twitter. Translated from Marathi, his tweet loosely reads, “Well-known Marathi and Hindi cinema actress Vatsala Deshmukh, a well-known actress passes away. A heartfelt tribute on behalf of Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Karmachari Sena .... !!!!! (sic).”

Vatsala Deshmukh hailed from a family of artistes. She was the daughter of popular theatre artiste, Sridharpant Deshmukh. Post shifting to Mumbai, he acted in films too. Vatsala Deshmukh was the mother of popular Marathi actress, Ranjana Deshmukh, who breathed her last in March 2000.
From working as a dancer in Toofan Aur Deeya to being a part of popular Marathi and Hindi projects, Vatsala Deshmukh’s void shall forever remain. Her notable works include Navrang, Iye Marathi Che Nagri, Ajab Tuje Sarkar, Jal Bin Machhli Nritya Bin Bijli , Suhaag, amid others.
