Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condoled Mr Nair’s death and remembered his contributions to literature, cinema, and journalism.”
For years, Mr. Nair headed the Kerala Kaumudi and Samakalika Malayalam magazines. He imbued journalistic writing with literary qualities. Mr Nair’s autobiography won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2012.
His best works include Rosadalangal, Azhakallatha Akasham, and Umadathathinte Surykanthikal. He also wrote the stories for the critically acclaimed films Swaham and Piravi.
Mr Nair joined the Kerala Kaumudi when K Balakrishnan edited it. He has received the K. Balakrishnan Memorial Award, K.C. Sebastian Award, K. Vijayayan Award, M.V. Pylee Journalism Award, and C.H. Muhammad Koya Award.

Responding to media queries over a recent case of a sexual assault on a woman walking home in Bengaluru, Home Minister G.
