In an incident from Brisbane, Australia, a venomous huntsman spider was seen crawling on the leg of Queensland health minister Yvette D’ath. While she was giving an update on Covid-19 to the media, a journalist pointed towards the insect on the minister’s leg. Update - No spiders were harmed during the press conference. https://t.co/220c6aM8ii You were so calm with that too, I am not even sure I would able to remain calm enough to keep going haha. I can't handle huntsman. Amazing composure under pressure. Same way you have calmly steered the health services through the turbulent Covid times. Good on you. Thank you. You did so well to keep your cool and carry on the presser, I'd have lost it How good is the guy signing the spider attack sooo good Jesus. I would have been screaming! Impressive. I thought you acted with great aplomb!
In the now-viral video, the state health minister can be seen on a podium and briefing the media while a man translated it for hearing impaired people in sign language. A few seconds later, a journalist pointed out the spider on her leg. However, she was completely unfazed by it. “Oh! Can someone please get that spider off,” said Yvette. She continued to speak and added, “This shows how controlled I can be. I don’t like huntsman. But, I am going to keep going and pretend I don’t know I have a huntsman on me right now. Someone else manages it, but if it gets anywhere near me, please let me know.”
