Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt miss Sidharth Shukla as Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania completes 8 years

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania completed eight years of its release on July 11. On the special day, lead actors Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt remembered late Sidharth Shukla, who had a significant role in the film.
Bigg Boss 13 winner Sidharth Shukla passed away due to a heart attack on September 2, 2021. He was 40. The late actor won millions of hearts since he made his acting debut in 2008 with Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na. But, his Bollywood dreams were realised six years later with the 2014 film, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. As the film clocked eight years of its release on July 11, Varun and Alia missed the late actor dearly. Director Shashank Khaitan also penned a long note.

In the film, Sidharth Shukla played the role of an NRI who had come to India to marry Alia's character. On the special occasion, the film's team shared heartfelt notes about their time together and even fondly remembered Sidharth.
Sharing photos with Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Shukla during the promotions of their film, Varun Dhawan tweeted, “8 years of #humptysharmakidhulania a very special film but today I remember it for the time I got to spend with sid on the film. He was kind hearted, protective and always passionate about work and friends (sic).”

Mommy-to-be Alia Bhatt reshared Varun Dhawan’s post on her Instagram stories and added heart emojis. She also posted a few videos of fans dancing on a song from the film.
