Vice presidential candidate Sen. JD Vance credits Donald Trump's tariff proposal to revive American manufacturing as driving GOP support in Pennsylvania.
"If you are a business, and you rely on foreign slave labor at $3 a day, the only way to rebuild American manufacturing is to say, if you want to bring that product made by slave labor back into the United States of America, you're going to pay a big fat tariff before you get it back into our country," Vance said. "My message to Pennsylvanians: don't trust anybody, especially Kamala Harris, when she tells you she's going to rebuild American manufacturing without forcing the Chinese to pay a tariff," he continued, speaking to voters in the critical swing state. "There is no way to do it unless you're fighting hard against the people who are stealing our jobs and stealing our manufacturing industries, you got to do it. And if you're not doing it, you're not serious about rebuilding the American middle class."
