As many as 65 people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents in Uttarakhand. The state government has pegged the losses due to three days of incessant rains at Rs 7,000 crore.
Five stranded tourists have died in Kapkot in Uttarakhand’s Kumaon, officials said Thursday as the death toll in the state battered by the recent rains rose to 65 and its chief minister pegged the losses at Rs 7,000 crore.
The confirmation about the death of tourists near Kapkot’s Sunderdhunga glacier in Bageshwar district came on a day when Union Home Minister Amit Shah conducted an aerial survey of the rain damage in the state's worst affected region.
