Uttarakhand: Misfire during hunting expedition kills 1, 3 others die by suicide

A misfire during a hunting trip in Uttarakhand ended in the death of four people – one by bullet and three others by suicide.

One of the men in the hunting party died due to accidental fire from a gun while three others committed suicide, apparently due to a sense of guilt over the incident, an official said on Sunday. Speaking to news agency PTI, SDM PR Chauhan said that seven friends had left for hunting on Saturday night from a village in Bhilangana block. Rajiv (22) with a loaded gun was leading the group when he slipped and fell. As he fell, the trigger of the gun on his shoulder went off with a bullet hitting Santosh.
