A college girl was shot dead by her classmate in Dehradun over grudge over a social media post. The Uttarakhand Police has arrested the absconding accused.
The Uttarakhand Police has arrested a man who allegedly shot dead a female student from his college on Thursday in Dehradun. The victim, identified as Vanisha Bansal, was a D Pharma student at Siddharth College.
Vanishka Bansal, who lived in a hostel located in Dada Nagar under Raipur Police station, was out with her friend when she was shot at by the accused, identified as Aditya Tomar.
The accused fled the scene after he shot Vanshika, but was caught by the police later.
Dehradun SSP Janmejay Khaduri said,“Deceased student Vanshika Bansal lived in college hostel in Doon. On Thursday evening, she was shopping with her friend, Mamta, in a shop outside the college hostel. Her classmate Aditya Tomar, who is a resident of Sundarwala Raipur in Dehradun, reached there on his bike and forcibly dragged Vanshika and started to make her sit on the bike.”

“When Vanshika protested, Aditya shot her in the chest with a gun and fled, leaving the bike and gun behind. Vanshika died on the spot,” Janmejay Khaduri said.
Following the incident, the police reached the spot, and questioned the people at the crime scene. Teams were formed to locate the absconding accused, who was soon arrested.
