A man in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri cooked potatoes in a wok filled with sand on a tandoor oven. The video has gone viral on social media.

A food blogger has posted a video of a man cooking potatoes in sand and his story has gone viral on social media. Amar Sirohi travelled all the way to Gola Bazaar in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri to taste the special potato dish and documented his experience in a video on his social media accounts. In the video, a man was seen cooking potatoes in a wok filled with sand on a tandoor oven at his stall by the street in Gola Bazaar. To begin with, the man put the potatoes in the wok and cooked them in sand for quite some time. After the potatoes were cooked, he removed them from the wok and placed them in a basket. Next, he peeled the potatoes and served them with coriander chutney, masala and butter. Asked about the price, he said that each plate costs Rs 20. He has been selling this particular dish since the past seven years and it is seemingly popular in the area.
