Uttar Pradesh: Bodies buried in sand along riverbank begin floating in Ganga due to erosion
India Today
In Uttar Pradesh, bodies that were buried in the sand along the banks of Ganga have now started floating in the river due to erosion of the sand as a result of rise in water level.
Bodies that were buried in the sand along the banks of Ganga have now been found floating in the river. This is because the river’s water level has increased by 40-45 cm in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, over the last two days, causing the sand to submerge and erode. As a result, a large number of mortal remains have been seen floating in the river at Buxar ghat in Unnao over the past few days. Earlier this month, hundreds of bodies were found buried in shallow sand graves on the riverbanks as a result of shortage of space at Buxar crematorium ghat in Bighapur. Some of these bodies may be of Covid victims.More Related News
