Uttar Pradesh: 7 out of 10 SPs, DMs fail to attend calls on CUG number despite CM’s warning
India Today
A few days after the UP government issued notice to officials after they failed to respond to calls on their CUG numbers, Aaj Tak carried out a reality check and found that only three of 10 answered the call.
The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government had earlier this week issued show-cause notices to over two dozen DMs and five divisional commissioners after they failed to respond to phone calls from the Chief Minister's Office to their official CUG numbers. Senior government officials, however, seem to have not taken the warning seriously. To check the situation on the ground, Aaj Tak called 10 senior government officers, including SPs, DMs, and CMOs, on their CUG numbers. Of 10, seven, including Uttar Pradesh DGP Hitesh Chandra Awasthi, did not attend the phone call on their CUG number. Other officers who failed to respond or had kept their CUG number with their staff included Ballia SP Vipin Tada, Balrampur SP Hemant Kutiyal, Shravasti DM TK Shibu, Siddarthnagar SP Ram Abhilash Tripathi, Unnao DM Ravindra Kumar and SSP Muzaffarnagar Abhishek Yadav.More Related News
