Bareilly Police has arrested two people for allegedly gang-raping a 19-year-old woman in Uttar Pradesh. The woman was allegedly gangraped by six men on May 31 when she had gone out with two friends. However, the woman lodged a complaint with the police only on Saturday due to the fear of social stigma. Her medical report has not yet arrived. Her statement will be recorded before a magistrate on Monday. The accused, identified as Vishal Patel and Anuj Patel, were arrested on Sunday. Vishal Patel, 22, was nabbed after a few rounds of exchange of fire, during which he was shot in his leg. He has been admitted to a hospital. A country-made pistol was recovered from his possession. Anuj Patel, 23, was arrested during a combing operation. Four other accused are still absconding.More Related News
