Shields of Strength is suing the U.S. military in federal court, claiming it violated the Constitution by requiring that dog tags exclude religious content if they include the military's trademarks.
The department's policy reads: "DoD marks may not be licensed for any purpose intended to promote ideological movements, sociopolitical change, religious beliefs (including non-belief), specific interpretations of morality, or legislative/statutory change."
