Ashes of Covid-19 victims who were cremated are piling up at Delhi crematoriums as kin of the deceased fear contracting the deadly disease.
The coronavirus crisis in Delhi, which was at its most visceral in overcrowded cemeteries and crematoriums, has come to a halt as the national capital's Covid-19 cases have been steadily declining. With Delhi recording the highest number of Covid-related death in April, officials tried every possible solution to the crematorium crisis, from cutting down trees in city parks to performing last rites in garages. Adding to the crisis, urns and bags now line the storerooms of Delhi crematoriums, as several families have been unable to collect their loved ones' asheseither because they are Covid-19 positive or because they haven't been going out in fear of contracting the deadly disease.More Related News
