After 27 years Urmila Matondkar and Remo D’Souza came together to recreate the magic of Rangeela Re on the sets of DID Super Moms. The duo are judges on the dance reality show.
The third edition of DID Super Moms was recently launched on Zee TV. The show has Remo D’Souza, Bhagyashree Dassani and Urmila Matondkar on the judges' panel with Jay Bhanushali as the host. This weekend, Urmila Matondkar and Remo D’Souza grooved to the iconic song Rangeela Re. The song was originally picturised on Urmila in the film Rangeela (1995). While it was choreographed by Ahmed Khan, Remo D'Souza was a background dancer in the song.
This week Janhvi Kapoor appeared on the show to promote her film, Good Luck Jerry. Though all the Super Moms were seen giving their best, it was Riddhi Tiwari’s performance to Yaaro Sun Lo Zara that caught everyone’s attention. She and her choreographer Shyam dedicated their performance to Urmila Matondkar.
She shared that she is a Urmila Matondkar fan and would love to dance with her on her popular track, Rangeela Re. Urmila readily agreed to join her and even called Remo on stage. She revealed how he was also a part of the OG song and though he was a background dancer back then, she feels proud of his growth over the past three decades.
Speaking about Remo, Urmila said, “Many people don’t know why I have called Remo along with me on the stage, but I would like to inform everyone that he was also there in the song with me 27 years ago. At that time, he was a background dancer, and he was at an early stage of his career. Having said that, I must add that I have seen him grow day by day and today, I would love to praise his journey by saying his own catchphrase - ‘Now that’s what I call a performance.’”
Remo D’Souza also posted a reel recently clubbing the original Rangeela Re song footage and transitioning it to a studio set up in the present where the duo is seen recreating the steps.

Talking about his post and his bond with Urmila Matondkar, Remo D’Souza added, “We always say that life is a circle and today, I feel that the circle is complete. It’s an honor for me to share the DID stage with Urmila Ma’am and it’s a pleasure to hear these kind words from her. Recently, I even posted a video with Urmila Ma’am and captioned it ‘I never dreamed of success. I have worked for if I can do it, anybody can do it.”
