Urban Noida makes a run for rural centres, thanks to Covid vaccination slots

Residents of Noida, especially those in the age group of 18-44, are struggling to find vaccination centres near their homes owing to the short supply of jabs. Many of them are now flocking to Thapkhera, a village in Greater Noida's Surajpur.

Asit works for a multinational company in Noida and lives in a 3BHK apartment. Since May 1, he had been looking for a vaccination slot near his place but was unable to find any for almost 10 days. Finally, he got a slot at Thapkhera village in Greater Noida's Surajpur locality. On Wednesday morning, he started for the centre, which was about 30 km from his house. It was not a smooth ride either, as even Google failed to locate the route several times.
