UP Commission for Women member Meena Kumari's remark on the use of mobile phones by girls has sparked a controversy. People are now demanding her removal from the commission.
The recent remarks made by a member of the Uttar Pradesh State Commission for Women (UPSCW), Meena Kumari, on the use of mobile phones by girls has sparked a controversy, with people now demanding her removal from the commission. The UP women's commission member had earlier this week suggested that girls should be kept off mobile phones by families who don’t want them "running away" with boys. She had also reportedly asked mothers to keep tabs on their daughters. "Girls should not be given mobile phones and if given, families should keep tabs on them. Girls talk with boys over the phone and later run away with them," Meena Kumari had said when she was asked about the rise in crime against women.More Related News
