UP students to get grading system assessment in undergraduate level
India Today
UP students at the undergraduate level will now get a grading system for assessments. The initiative is being taken to reduce stress and bring uniformity among students.
Uttar Pradesh students will now be assessed with a grading system at the undergraduate level. This system will be applicable in all state and private universities in the state. Instructions have been issued to all universities for the 10-point grading system.
Under the National Education Policy, this will prove to be important for bringing uniformity among students in educational institutions. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved the proposal prepared in the departmental meeting.
This system will be applicable from the academic year 2022-2023 in all the universities of UP.
Students in BA, BCom and BSc degree courses in all state and private universities will now be assessed only through grading using a 10-point system.
The pass percentage of every written and practical examination will remain the same as before at 33%.
The internal assessment will be of 25 marks and the total marks of the university exam will be 75. In the third year, 40 percent marks will be required to pass the minor research.
The grading system will have grades ranging from O i.e. outstanding to NQ i.e. not qualified. A+ means excellent, A means very good, B+ means good, B means above average, C means average, P means pass, F means fail, Q means qualified, and NQ means not qualified.
