UP polls: PM Modi transfers Rs 1k crore to self-help groups in push for women votes

PM Modi transferred Rs 1,000 crore to self-help groups at an event in Prayagraj in a bid to woo women voters.
In a strong bid to woo the women voters of Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, December 21, transferred Rs 1,000 crore in the bank accounts of various self-help groups. He also transferred money to over 1 lakh beneficiaries of the Mukhya Mantri Kanya Sumangala Scheme, which provides assistance to the girl child.
At a mega rally attended by over 2 lakh women, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of 202 Supplementary Nutrition Manufacturing Units. The rally was held as per the government’s vision to empower women, especially at grassroot level, by providing them with necessary skills, incentives and resources.
