Former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur was arrested on Thursday after the rape victim, who attempted self-immolation outside the Supreme Court premises, succumbed to her injuries. Amitabh Thakur was arrested on the basis of a SIT investigation report. The rape victim had accused don-turned-MLA Mukhtar Ansari of creating a 'conspiracy' to allegedly save rape-accused BSP MP Atul Rai.
