The video which was posted by UP Police’s official Twitter handle, shows police constable Pawan Kumar helping an elderly woman leave the polling station after she cast her vote.
A video that has gone viral on social media features a police officer carrying an elderly woman at the polling booth. The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur district and the video was posted by the official Twitter handle of UP Police. The cop was identified as Pawan Kumar.
Uttar Pradesh is currently holding a month-long Legislative Assembly Elections which began on February 10. The penultimate phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election was held on Thursday, March 3. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.

The video was captioned in Hindi which roughly translates to, “A gun on shoulder and mother in lap. That’s why we take pride in khaki uniforms.
