
UP govt transfers Hathras SP after 6 Kanwar devotees mowed down by truck

The Uttar Pradesh government took action against Vikas Vaidya as the government had directed instructions to not allow any heavy vehicles on the way of the Kanwar devotees.
The Hathras Superintendent of Police (SP) has been transferred due to negligence, a day after six Kanwar devotees were mowed down by a speeding truck in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district.
Devesh Pandey has replaced Vikas Vaidya as the new SP Hathras. Vikas Vaidya has been transferred to PAC Mirjapur as Commandant.

The Kanwar Yatris belonged to Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior.
The incident happened at Sadabad PS in Hathras on NH-93 near Badhar village on Hathras Agra road around 2.15 am on Saturday (July 23).
