UP govt to set up state’s first two colleges in PPP mode

In a first, the Uttar Pradesh government will be establishing the state’s first two colleges in public private partnership.
To set up two new medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal and Maharajganj districts, the Uttar Pradesh government inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU), under the public-private partnership (PPP) mode on Thursday.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was present at the signing of the MoU which took place at his residence, as per a statement.
The chief minister went on to say that medical colleges were being set up in the public-private partnership mode for the first time in Uttar Pradesh.
He further urged the medical education department to move forward in a timely manner.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath further explained that the work of establishing the medical colleges is being carried out by reputed institutions such as Shri Siddhi Vinayak Trust, Bareilly and Shanti Foundation Trust, Maharajganj.
He further said that the construction of medical colleges with private sector participation will be pursued on a war footing.
He went on to remark that the Uttar Pradesh government has an aim of setting up medical colleges in the districts of Maharajganj and Sambhal district by 2024.
