UP govt to make PNG facilities available to 20 lakh houses of Purvanchal

Under the Urja Ganga Yojana of the Centre, the Uttar Pradesh government will provide PNG connections to about 20 lakh families of Purvanchal (eastern UP).
People of Uttar Pradesh will no longer have to get LPG cylinders to meet their demand for cooking gas as the state government is preparing to supply gas directly to kitchens through pipes. The Centre and UP government will jointly provide PNG connections to about 20 lakh families of Purvanchal (eastern UP).
A plan to lay 2,050 km long gas pipeline from Haldia in West Bengal to Jagdishpur in Uttar Pradesh is already underway. The state government has started working on this scheme under the Urja Ganga Yojana of the Centre.
