The Uttar Pradesh government in its state budget 2022 allotted Rs 21,000 crore for 14 new medical colleges in the state.
The Uttar Pradesh government released its state budget for the years 2022-2023 on May 26. The state government of Uttar Pradesh intends to focus on infrastructure, employment, youth, and women in its 2022 budget.
Suresh Khanna, the state finance minister, presented the budget wherein he revealed that Rs 21,000 crore has been recommended for the establishment of 14 new medical colleges in the state.
This news comes a month after the Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, announced the establishment of a foundation for 14 new medical colleges.
The state's medical colleges have been awarded a boost in the 2022-23 budget, with the goal of increasing medical education and making it more accessible to students in their own state.
Every year, a huge number of medical aspirants and students from Uttar Pradesh appear for NEET. An increase in the number of medical institutions in Uttar Pradesh would provide additional options for students to pursue medicine careers.
PM Narendra Modi inaugurated nine colleges in Uttar Pradesh last year, in the districts of Siddharthnagar, Etah, Hardoi, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, Deoria, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, and Jaunpur.
The UP government has laid forth its strategy for the next five years in its budget for 2022-23. The establishment of medical colleges would benefit not only the advancement of medical education in the state but also the state's infrastructure.
