A video that has gone viral on social media is from Uttar Pradesh’s Hamirpur where a bride slapped the groom during the varamala ceremony, following which she walked out of her wedding. The baraat had arrived at Hamirpur from Jalaun district’s Chamari village. The groom was identified as Ravikanth. While the actual reason for the bride slapping the groom cannot be ascertained, people close to the family said that the groom had arrived at the wedding venue drunk, which irked the girl.
The viral video shows the bride slapping the groom not just once but a couple of times. While the baraatis were welcomed with great pomp and joy to the wedding by the bride’s family, this untoward incident brought the wedding festivities to a standstill. The video that has gone viral on social media is from Hamirpur’s Swasa village. The video shows how the guests at the wedding were left shocked after the bride left the ceremony midway after slapping the groom.

However, the wedding did take place after the two parties reached an agreement. The vidaai of the bride also took place after the wedding was over.
