UP Board paper leak 2022: School principal among six arrested for helping students cheat in exams in Ghazipur

In Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur, the Special Task Force (STF) arrested six people, including a school principal and teacher, for allegedly taking bribes from students to help them pass Class 10 and 12 Board exams.
The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has arrested six people for allegedly helping students cheat in the Class 10 and 12 Board examinations in Ghaziabad district. A principal, a teacher and other staff members from Saidpur were accused of demanding bribes worth Rs 25,000 from students appearing for the examinations to give them pass marks.
Acting on a tip-off, the STF conducted a raid at Panchayat Bhawan adjacent to Inter college and arrested three people from the spot. Students appearing for the exams and other administrators were also taken into police custody. Varanasi STF Chief Punit Singh Parihar received specific inputs that students were giving open book exams for Physics papers, following which a raid was carried out in the evening at 4 pm.
The sleuths arrested three students identified as Ravi, Shailendra and Rajnish Kushwaha and upon further interrogation, administrators Ravindranath Rai, clerks Ashok Kumar and Piyush were also apprehended.
The accused were taken into police custody for questioning and a case under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered later.
The incident comes close on the heels after UP Board's Class 12 paper was leaked in Ballia, triggering a crackdown on the copying syndicate. The manager of two schools, a teacher and three staff were accused of opening the tamper-proof packet containing the exam paper and leaking it.
The Class 12 English exam of the state Board was leaked on March 30 from the Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh, following which the exam was cancelled in 24 districts. The exam is now scheduled to be held on April 13. The paper was leaked from Maharaja Devi Inter College of Bhimpura police station area in Ballia.
