Budaun district recorded 56.85 per cent voter turnout. The district witnessed a slow rate of voter turnout in the morning hours, but gradually picked up after 11 am. Among the six seats of the Budaun district, the BJP had won five whereas one seat had gone to the Samajwadi Party in 2017.
The voter turnout was visibly poor in the urban markets, whereas massive crowds were seen at the polling stations in the rural pockets.
Low turnout could lead to disappointment for both the ruling party and the opposition.
