On Sunday, Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia took to Twitter to express his gratitude to Romanians for caring for Indian students like their own. Amid the Ukraine-Russia war, India has been evacuating its nationals in Ukraine via neighbouring nations like Romania.
Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya M Scindia took to Twitter on Sunday to express his gratitude to Romania for "caring for our children as their own".
After Russia declared war on Ukraine on February 24, the Indian government, under Operation Ganga, has been evacuating Indian nationals, especially students, from the war-torn country via neighbouring nations like Romania and Poland.
On February 28, Union ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiren Rijiju and Gen VK Singh were dispatched to Ukraine’s neighbouring nations to coordinate evacuation operations. Jyotiraditya Scindia was sent to Romania.

In his tweet on Sunday, Jyotiraditya Scindia stated that nothing was impossible when "humans decide to stand up for their mates in testing times". He cited the examples of an American chef teaching himself to cook Indian food for students in Romania and police officers manning shelters round the clock.
He wrote, "Overcome by gratitude towards Romania for caring for our children as their own. From an American chef teaching himself to cook Indian food to police officers manning shelters 24x7, nothing is impossible when humans decide to stand up for their mates in testing times. More power to you."
