
Union minister left red-faced after woman says she paid Rs 100 for e-Shram card being given by Centre for free

The incident took place on Saturday when a group of beneficiaries were being distributed e-Shram cards by Rameswar Teli at Dashrath Manjhi Institute in Patna.
Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Rameswar Teli was left red-faced after a women beneficiary informed him that she had to pay Rs 100 for obtaining an e-Shram card after registration on the e-Shram portal, a national database of unorganised workers.
The incident took place on Saturday when a group of beneficiaries were being distributed e-Shram cards by Rameswar Teli at Dashrath Manjhi Institute in Patna. The government has announced that cards would be given to beneficiaries free of cost.
