Geneva: The International Labour Organization (ILO) announced on Friday that unemployment rate in the Gaza Strip reached roughly 80% since the start of the Israeli aggression, thus bringing the average rate of unemployment to over 50% across the Palestinian territories.
Since hostilities erupted in October 2023, the unemployment rate in the Gaza Strip has reached a staggering 79.1%. In the West Bank, and 32% in the West Bank, with the total rate reaching 50.8%, ILO reported.
ILO Regional Director for Arab States Ruba Jaradat said that this excludes the Palestinians who have lost hope of finding a job, adding that the situation is much worse.
