
ULFA-I releases abducted ONGC employee after CM Himanta Biswa Sarma's appeal

Following an appeal from Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the banned United Liberation Front of Asom–Independent (ULFA-I) freed Ritul Saikia, an employee of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) who was kidnapped in Assam's Sivasagar district last month.
Banned United Liberation Front of Asom Independent (ULFA-I) released Ritul Saikia, an employee of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), who was abducted from Assam’s Sivasagar district last month. Ritul Saikia was released after Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma appealed to the outfit and its chief Paresh Baruah to release the abducted ONGC employee. According to reports, the abducted ONGC employee was released by ULFA-I on Saturday morning in Longwa village, Mon district, along the Nagaland-Myanmar border. Security forces have taken him into their custody. “An Indian army team escorted the ONGC employee on his way to Mon, and security forces will jointly interrogate him,” said a top Indian Army personnel based in Dimapur.More Related News
