US President Joe Biden is scheduled to meet the leaders of India, Australia and Japan in Tokyo on Tuesday for a summit of the "Quad" nations.
The meeting comes at the end of Biden's first trip to Asia since becoming President, a five-day visit he began in South Korea.
The Quad, or Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, is an informal group focused on security that dates back to the early 2000s. It has become more active in recent years as part of efforts to counter China's reach and territorial claims in the Indo-Pacific.
