The UGC Twitter handle has over 2,96,000 followers and is linked to the official website.

Earlier, the Twitter accounts of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's Office and the Indian Meteorological Department of India were similarly hacked.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered in this regard against unknown persons under relevant sections of the IT Act at the cyber police station in Lucknow. The matter will be probed by a team of experts from the DGP office.
The UP government said the strictest action will be taken against those responsible. The case is being investigated by cyber experts.
