Following an appeal by the BJP, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has issued directions to the crisis-hit Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government to prove its majority in the state assembly by 5 pm on Thursday (June 30).
Koshyari has convened a special session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly tomorrow with the sole agenda being the trust vote against Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
“I will be in Mumbai tomorrow to participate in floor test in assembly. Prayed for Maharashtra and its people,” rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde said.
The trust vote proceedings in the Maharashtra assembly will be videographed.
On Tuesday, Maharashtra BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis met Governor Koshyari at the Raj Bhavan in Mumbai and submitted a letter to him, seeking direction to the Uddhav Thackeray-led coalition government to prove its majority on the floor of the assembly in view of the rebellion in the Shiv Sena, the lead party in the ruling alliance.
