Uddhav Thackeray suffered another setback as one of his Shiv Sena MLAs joined Eknath Shinde’s camp. The development comes hours before a floor test that the four-day-old Maharashtra government will face.

A day before the crucial trust vote of the Eknath Shinde-BJP government, the newly-appointed speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly on Sunday night removed Shiv Sena Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ajay Chaudhary as the legislative party leader. This came as a jolt to Uddhav Thackeray's faction.
Earlier, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray resigned as the Maharashtra Chief Minister after the Supreme Court refused to stay a floor test ordered by the Governor to prove majority.
Eknath Shinde took oath as the new CM of Maharashtra on June 30 with BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis as his deputy.
