Udaipur murder: The gruesome beheading of a Hindu man in Rajasthan's Udaipur has sent shivers across the nation. The matter is even more serious as the killers threatened PM Narendra Modi in a video recorded after the murder.
The two men who murdered a Hindu tailor, Kanhaiya Lal, in Rajasthan's Udaipur on Tuesday, are said to be linked to a Pakistan based extremist organisation. The Udaipur murder was recorded on camera and the video went viral on social media. Kanhaiya Lal is believed to have been killed over a social media post supporting the comments of BJP leader Nupur Sharma.
The killers — identified as Gaus Mohammed and Riyaz Ahmed — who killed Kanhaiya Lal then admitted to the murder and threatened PM Narendra Modi in another video. A third video, recorded on June 17, emerged after the murder on Tuesday. In that video, one of the two men is heard describing his intentions to carry out an act similar to what took place in Udaipur on Tuesday.

Videos that emerged after the murder showed Kanhaiya Lal’s body lying on the pavement outside his shop. There was allegedly a delay in recovering the body as traders and Hindu organisations reached the spot and refused to let the authorities take the corpse. They demanded financial aid for Kanhaiya Lal’s family and a government job for a member of the family.
Kanhaiya Lal is survived by his wife and two sons.
