Bodies of eight labourers who died in a road accident in Bihar were brought to their native village in the Udaipur district by ambulance.
Bodies of eight labourers who died in a road accident in Purnia, Bihar, were brought to their native village, Kherwara in the Udaipur district, on Wednesday night, by an ambulance.
Their last rites were performed on Thursday morning. Hundreds of villagers, including the village authorities, gathered for the cremation.
At least eight labourers were killed, while eight others were injured after a truck laden with pipes overturned in Bihar on Monday.
The accident occurred at the Kali temple under the Jalalgarh police station on the Siliguri-Delhi four-lane National Highway 57. After the accident, the driver and helper managed to flee from the spot.
Expressing grief over the incident, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot extended his condolences and prayed for the deceased to rest in peace.
