Two-phase plan prepared by DoE to bridge learning gap in Delhi students

The Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) has prepared a two-phase plan to bridge the learning gap amongst the students.
A two-phase plan for bridging Covid-19 caused competency gaps in the students of Class 3 to Class 9 has been planned by the Delhi Directorate of Education as the next session begins next month. As per an official DoE statement, the new academic session starting from April 1 will mark the first time that students will be attending their new session physically after Covid-19 caused several lockdowns in the past two years.
The Director of Education Himanshu Gupta convened a meeting with all deputy directors of education (DDEs) and the head of schools (HoSs) belonging to state-run Delhi government schools.
He directed these officials to exclusively focus on the emotional well-being of students from Class 3 to Class 9 during the first quarter of the academic session 2022-23.
The statement further read that DoE has prepared an action plan to be undertaken in two phases to bridge the competency gap amongst the students.
The director of education further explained that the class-wise syllabus will be reduced to provide each child with the opportunity to not only rebuild their foundational competencies but also build conceptual clarity prior to studying subject-wise topics.
To address students’ problems related to learning, teachers are also going to be specially trained to execute the two-phase plan in schools.
Further, the director of education will also be conducting a weekly review for the assessment of the plan’s implementation, according to the statement.
