Two NCB officers who probed cruise drugs case involving Aryan Khan suspended

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officers Vishwa Vijay Singh and Asshish Ranjan Prasad, who probed a drug case involving Aryan Khan, have been suspended following a Vigilance inquiry.

Sources said that the ongoing inquiry by the vigilance team of NCB claimed that both had indulged in 'suspicious activity' and that is the reason for their suspension.
Singh was Investigating Officer of cruise drugs case, while Prasad was his deputy in the case. The reason for suspension is not known yet. It is not yet clear whether they have been suspended for their role in the cruise drugs case.
There were five cases transferred to NCB SIT, including the cruise drugs case, following allegations of extortion against the NCB team. A vigilance inquiry under a Deputy Director-General level officer was also launched which recorded statements of several officers, including Singh and Prasad and also the then Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede.

Aryan Khan was arrested by the NCB following a raid at Mumbai's International Cruise Terminal on October 3 of last year. The drug enforcement agency had seized 13 grams of cocaine, five grams of mephedrone, 21 grams of charas and 22 MDMA/Ecstasy pills during the raid on the Cordelia cruise from Mumbai to Goa.
A total of 20 individuals were arrested in connection with the case. Out of these, 18 are now out on bail, including Aryan Khan. The actor's son was booked under sections 8C, 20B, 27 and 35 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
