Two dead after head-on collision south of Medicine Hat, Alta.

RCMP in southeastern Alberta say a man and woman are dead after a head-on collision with a semi-trailer truck.

Mounties say they responded to a report of a crash Monday evening near Seven Persons, Alta., a hamlet about 24 kilometres southwest of Medicine Hat.

RCMP say a Chevrolet pickup truck was heading east on Highway 3 and crossed the centre line, striking the semi head on.

Both people in the pickup were pronounced dead at the scene.

They have been identified as a 63-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman from Medicine Hat.

RCMP say the driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
