Retired Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation driver Sundar Vardhan and homemaker Suma could not have asked for more from their twin daughters, Sangeetha S. and Spoorthy S., both students of Adichunchangiri PU College in Mysuru, who delivered outstanding performances in the second PU examination.
Ms. Sangeetha emerged as one of the district toppers in the Science stream, scoring an impressive 594 out of 600 marks. Her twin sister, Ms. Spoorthy, was not far behind, securing 587 out of 600. The family, including their elder sister Saugandhini, is overjoyed and immensely proud of the twins’ achievements.
“I did not expect to be among the toppers in the Science stream, though I was confident of scoring around 590,” Ms. Sangeetha said. “I am very happy with the result and the credit entirely goes to my teachers, who trained us exceptionally well. The structured college schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. helped me prepare thoroughly. At home, I studied for only two to three hours a day,” she said.
Ms. Sangeetha, who scored a perfect 100 mark in mathematics, chemistry, biology, and Sanskrit, has set her sights on a career in medicine. “My dream is to become a cardiologist, and I am currently preparing for the NEET exam,” she said.
Ms. Spoorthy also aspires to become a doctor. “I want to become a neurologist. This is my dream,” she added.
Their father, Mr. Sundar Vardhan, expressed his delight at the twins’ academic accomplishments. “We are all extremely happy and proud of their success. Both of them aspire to become doctors, and I sincerely pray that their dreams come true,” he said.

The Delhi High Court on Monday ordered status quo till July 10 on the demolition notices issued by the Delhi Development Authority against seven residents of Okhla’s Batla House area. The court posted the matter for hearing on July 10, when the other petitions related to the demolitions in the area are also scheduled for hearing. The counsel for the petitioners argued that the DDA and the Delhi government had “indiscriminately targeted properties beyond the identified area and without issuance of individual notices”.
