Trump urges judge in 2020 election case not to allow release of more evidence, claiming election interference

Washington — Lawyers for former President Donald Trump on Thursday urged the federal district judge overseeing his prosecution related to the 2020 election to keep from public view evidence accompanying a key legal brief from special counsel Jack Smith that detailed his case against the former president.
Trump's lawyers argued in their two-page filing that U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan should not allow the release of any additional information and accused Smith of attempting to interfere with the upcoming presidential election by making public potentially damaging information while voters are casting their ballots.
If Chutkan decides to release additional information relating to Smith's filings, the former president's legal team is asking her to pause that decision to allow them to "evaluate litigation options relating to the decision."
The details of the murder are still shocking today, nearly three decades later. On Dec. 26, 1996, the 6-year-old daughter of John and Patsy Ramsey, a well-to-do couple living in Boulder, Colorado, was found dead in the family's basement. JonBenét Ramsey, an outgoing child who performed in local beauty pageants, had been bludgeoned and strangled.
