The president couldn't resist throwing some shade during the MLB champions' visit to Washington, D.C.
President Donald Trump took a swing at his political foes during the Los Angeles Dodgers’ visit to the White House on Monday, where the team was honored for their 2024 World Series win.
“We have a couple senators here. I just don’t particularly like them, so I won’t introduce them,” Trump quipped, prompting some tense chuckles from players and reporters, according to The Hill.
It wasn’t exactly clear who he was talking about, as neither California Sens. Alex Padilla (D) and Adam Schiff (D) were in attendance.
Praising the Dodgers as “very talented people,” Trump took a moment to single out Japanese slugger Shohei Ohtani for his looks.
“He looks like a movie star,” Trump said. “He’s got a good future, I’m telling you.”
