Trump's appeal in Carroll case hindered by legal trend from 1990s: Former prosecutor

Former President Donald Trump, found liable in the suit brought by advice columnist Elizabeth Jean Carroll, will have a tougher time at appeal, McCarthy says.
Former assistant U.S. attorney Andrew McCarthy told Fox News many or most U.S. jurisdictions expanded the admissibility of "propensity evidence" in cases such as Trump's, which he said can hurt the former president's chances of a successful appeal. Charles Creitz is a reporter for Fox News Digital.
Trump has repeatedly claimed he has "no idea" who Carroll is and doesn't recall the alleged encounter on Fifth Avenue nearly 30 years ago. He joined Fox News in 2013 as a writer and production assistant.
Charles covers media, politics and breaking news, and has covered the annual CPAC conference for Fox News Digital.
