
Trump has 'presidential level' Secret Service protection, lawmakers told

House lawmakers were briefed by Secret Service officials on Wednesday after a man was arrested over an apparent assassination attempt against Donald Trump.

During that briefing, officials told House lawmakers that Trump had nearly all of the same protections afforded to President Biden at the time of the second attempt. "He had the same coverage as sitting president as he had last Sunday. And we're talking mainly today with Secret Service," task force Chairman Mike Kelly, R-Pa., told reporters after the briefing.
